Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Manali

  • Arrive in Manali, a famous hill station in Himachal Pradesh.
  • Spend the day exploring the town, acclimatizing to the altitude, and preparing for the trek.
  • Overnight stay in a hotel or guesthouse in Manali.

 

Day 2: Manali to Jobra (Drive) and Jobra to Chika (Trek)

  • After breakfast, drive from Manali to Jobra, which is the starting point of the trek.
  • Begin the trek from Jobra to Chika, a scenic trail through the forest.
  • The trek is relatively easy and takes around 2-3 hours.
  • Set up camp at Chika and spend the night there.

 

Day 3: Chika to Balu Ka Ghera

  • Start the day early and trek from Chika to Balu Ka Ghera.
  • The trail gradually ascends, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
  • The trek takes around 4-5 hours.
  • Set up camp at Balu Ka Ghera and stay overnight.

 

Day 4: Balu Ka Ghera to Shea Goru via Hampta Pass

  • This is the most challenging day of the trek.
  • Trek from Balu Ka Ghera to Shea Goru, crossing the Hampta Pass.
  • The trail involves steep ascents and descents, and you’ll experience a significant change in the landscape.
  • Reach the Hampta Pass, which stands at an altitude of approximately 14,100 feet (4,300 meters).
  • Descend to Shea Goru and set up camp for the night.
  • The trek takes around 7-8 hours in total.

 

Day 5: Shea Goru to Chatru and Drive to Chandratal Lake

  • Trek from Shea Goru to Chatru, which is the endpoint of the trek.
  • The trail gradually descends, offering stunning views of the Chandra River and surrounding mountains.
  • From Chatru, take a shared jeep or private vehicle to Chandratal Lake.
  • Spend the night camping near the beautiful Chandratal Lake.  

 

Day 6: Chandratal Lake to Manali (Drive)

  • Enjoy the morning at Chandratal Lake, surrounded by the breathtaking Himalayan scenery.
  • After breakfast, drive back to Manali.
  • Reach Manali by evening.
  • Overnight stay in a hotel or guesthouse in Manali.

 

Day 7: Departure from Manali

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and depart from Manali.
